Meet Josh
Josh Hills — Owner, OC Roof Rescue.
Josh Hills is the local owner-operator behind OC Roof Rescue. Born and raised in upstate New York, he's spent years working on and around homes in the New Hartford and Oneida County area — and he kept seeing the same story play out: homeowners being quoted $20,000, $30,000, sometimes $40,000 to tear off a roof that still had real life left in it.
After learning about GreenSoy™ asphalt shingle rejuvenation and seeing the independent lab data behind it, Josh built OC Roof Rescue around a single idea: most older roofs in this region don't need to be replaced — they need their oils restored. He runs every inspection himself, on the roof, with photos and a written report.
His promise is simple: an honest inspection, a clear quote, and a recommendation to rejuvenate only when it's genuinely the right call. If your shingles are past the point where rejuvenation makes sense, he'll tell you that too — and the inspection is still free. Every approved job is backed by a 6-year transferable warranty.
The science
Why Shingles Fail — and Why GreenSoy™ Works.
Why shingles fail
Asphalt shingles depend on natural oils to stay flexible and waterproof. Sun, oxidation, and freeze-thaw cycles drive those oils out over time. Once they're gone, shingles crack, curl, and lose the granules that protect the UV layer.
The real misdiagnosis
Traditional roofing calls this "old age" and recommends a full tear-off. But the real issue is dehydration. A structurally sound roof with depleted oils doesn't need to be torn off — it needs to be restored.
GreenSoy™ chemistry
Soy-derived, plant-based polymers penetrate the shingle, chemically bond with the asphalt, re-seal granules, reactivate tar strips, and rebuild UV protection. It revives the shingle from within — it doesn't coat it.
